2 dead in suspected murder-suicide

SONOMA COUNTY, CA – Two people were found dead in a Sonoma County home this week in what authorities suspect was a murder-suicide.

Their bodies were found Wednesday by a Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office officer who was asked to check on the welfare of a resident in the 2000 block of Weeks Ranch Road who had failed to show up for work, spokesman Rob Dillion said.

“When the deputy arrived, he found the front door was closed but unlocked and there was a light on in the house,” Dillion said. “After announcing his presence with no response, the officer entered the home at approximately 1:30 p.m. and found two individuals deceased in what was initially believed to be a murder-suicide.”

Detectives and crime scene investigators were called in to conduct the investigation.

“Despite the initial appearance of a murder/suicide, the investigation is ongoing as investigators continue to work through the information received,” Dillion said.
