2 former Alabama running backs in top 5 of Pro Bowl fan votes

Two former Alabama running backs are among the top five vote-getters in the NFL’s first report of fan voting for Pro Bowl games.

Derrick Henry of the Baltimore Ravens is in second place overall with 40,720 votes and Jahmyr Gibbs of the Detroit Lions is in fifth place with 35,637 votes.

Since online voting opened to fans on Monday, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has garnered the most votes with 44,681. Between Henry and Gibbs are Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

That makes Henry the top pick among AFC running backs so far, while Gibbs is second only to Barkley among NFC running backs.

In addition to the five voters with the most votes, the NFL also released the leader at each position in each conference in its initial report. Three other Alabama alumni are leaders:

  • Marlon Humphrey (Hoover) from the Baltimore Ravens: AFC cornerback
  • Xavier McKinney of the Green Bay Packers: NFC free safety
  • Quinnen Williams (Wenonah) from the New York Jets: AFC Defensive Tackle

Fans can vote online for their Pro Bowl favorites through December 23rd.
