4-star OT Carde Smith will commit on National Signing Day, Colorado is still trending

Mobile (Ala.) Williamson Four-star offensive tackle Carde Smith released by USC on Nov. 20 and returns to the board with just a few weeks until National Signing Day.

Smith, also a former Auburn Commit, now knows when he will make his third and final decision. He told Sam Spiegelman of Rivals on Tuesday night that he would announce his commitment on Dec. 4, the first day of the early signing period.

The 6-foot-6.5, 295-pounder is the No. 228 overall prospect and No. 20 OT in the 2025 cycle, according to this On3 industry rankinga weighted average that takes into account all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 15 player in Alabama.

On3 ranks Smith higher than other recruiting services as he checks in as the No. 140 recruit, No. 12 OT and No. 5 player in the Yellowhammer State, according to the update On300.

Deion Sanders And Colorado Accordingly, Smith should be in charge for Smith On3 recruitment prediction engine. He has visited Boulder multiple times this fall and could reunite with his former USC commit and the new Buffs quarterback commit Julian Lewis.

CU began to gain serious momentum earlier this month before Smith decommitted from the Trojans. Since November 11th, four picks have been registered in favor of signing Smith in the Big 12 program.

“The one-time Auburn commit has flipped USC and now the Buffaloes appear to be on the verge of moving him away from the Trojans. “Smith sees an opportunity to play in Boulder immediately and the way the program has performed on the field this season has caught his attention.” On3’s Chad Simmons wrote earlier this month.

Colorado has two four-star interior OL commits from Nashville Lipscomb Academy so far Chauncey Gooden and West Bloomfield (Mich.), three-star OT Jay Gardenhire Crooks. The Buffs made a splash at the end of the last cycle by landing Five-Star Plus+ OT Jordan Seaton from the IMG Academy.

In total, the class currently has 11 commits and is only ranked 49th in the category On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Sanders and his staff have several other targets to contend with along the way, while NSD is just around the corner.
