49ers News: Jordan James selected confirmation in the 5th round according to Frank Gore

We wondered how long it would take for the San Francisco 49ers to choose an offensive player. At the end of the fourth round they took a broad receiver. To start the fifth round, they selected Jordan James from Oregon.

The 49s were everywhere in Oregon’s professional day, so they had to have liked what they saw from James. At 5,9 1/2, 205 pound James ran a 4.55 40-yard fitting board. This is about the same time when Jordan Mason ran.

In the pass game, James had 27 destinations for 180 yards last year. He set himself up 19 times in the slit and also had 40 repetitions as a passblocker. He allowed four pressure in these attempts.

James achieved an average of 5.7 yards per car at 206 last season. He forced 53 battled duels and had 36 wearing at least 10 meters. For what it is worth, PFF gave him a grade of 87.7.

James is a little lower, but he has the vision and the contact balance that is necessary to be successful in the position. He is also a 3-year-old junior, so there is plenty of space for him to grow as a player. James’ best quality could be its ball security.

James probably plays a step or so faster than he ran, but he is not a speed demon. Despite its size, I considered him more of a hard force than its typical 200-pound back. James was productive in Oregon because 36.5 percent of his trages led to a first down or touchdown.
