5 things we’re looking forward to during the Lunar New Year celebration at Disneyland

The Lunar New Year Celebration is the first Disneyland special event of 2025, taking place from mid-January to mid-February at Disney California Adventure. This multicultural festival, inspired by Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean traditions, ushers in the Year of the Snake with special entertainment, food markets, character meet-and-greets, merchandise and more.

These are the top five things we’re looking forward to during the Disneyland Lunar New Year Festival this year!

1) One of our favorite things about the Lunar New Year celebration is that it takes place on one of the following days Best Times to Visit Disneyland. January and February are some of the quietest months of the year at Disneyland if you want to avoid the crowds. You can expect crowds to be below normal on several days of these months, as you can see in our article Disneyland audience calendar.

The Lunar New Year celebration is one of the most enticing times of the year to visit Disneyland, as you can enjoy a productive day of park tours with shorter wait times while enjoying the celebration’s special offerings!

2) You can enjoy it rare character meet-and-greets during the Lunar New Year celebration. During last year’s celebration, Meilin Lee and Ming Lee dated To redden debuted in the park and will be back this year! Mulan and Mushu will also perform during the festivities. These two are a lot of fun and are some of the best Meeting Disneyland Characters You will see all year round!

This year, Mickey and Minnie will wear new outfits that reflect traditional Korean clothing. The location in Paradise Gardens Park where they appear is beautifully decorated with bamboo, peach blossoms, gold flowers and banners.

3) There will be six Lunar New Year food markets with offers celebrating Asian cuisine as well as special offers at restaurants throughout the resort. Some of our favorites from last year New Food for Lunar New Year at Disneyland These included the strawberry milk tea macaron, Vietnamese-style taro iced coffee and the BBQ pork bun. One of the highlights of the celebration is tasting several of these offerings in one go Sip and enjoy the pass all day!

You will also find special novelties and merchandise during the celebration. A popular item from last year was the Lunar New Year Stainless Steel Mug with Mushu! You can also find a selection of special merchandise for the event, such as Spirit jerseys, Minnie headbands and more.

4) During Lunar New Year at Disneyland you can find the following special activities at Paradise Gardens. Children can enjoy free crafts, Chinese calligraphy demonstrations and more. At Paradise Gardens you will also find the Lunar New Year Wishes Wall where you can add your own message of hope, health and happiness for the coming year! During the celebration, the area is filled with special decorations and decorative lanterns.

5) The Entertainment during the Lunar New Year celebration you can’t miss it! Mulan’s New Year’s procession takes place on select days. This is a short but beautiful procession that goes from Hollywood Land to Paradise Gardens and features cast members, Mulan, Mushu and several other Disney characters!

Disneyland world of colors There will also be a special pre-show during the Lunar New Year called “Hurry Home – A Lunar New Year Celebration,” which tells the story of a little lantern and her journey home for the celebrations, with a musical score by Academy Award-winning composer Tan Dun.
