6 new superstar participants confirmed

The number of confirmed participants in the Royal Rumble for men and women from 2025 rose to 31 after the episode of WWE Smackdown on Friday evening.

A total of six new names were added to the field.

Men Royal Rumble additions

Damian Priest, now officially part of Smackdown, explained for the rumbling of the men, only to be confronted and challenged by Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga.

Priest hit first and dropped Tonga with a super kick before he had a brawl with the Samoan werewolf. When Fatu and Tonga achieved the upper hand, La Knight himself ran into the chances. This heated confrontation led to a Tag team match that ultimately became the main event of Smackdown.

After an intensive match, priests and knights appeared victorious when priests Tonga stuck to a southern Himmelstorf. Fatu was not finished yet. After the match, he brutalized priests and knights with a steel chair, which made it clear that this feud is far from over.

Fatu was officially confirmed for the Royal Rumble, while Knight had previously explained his entry. There was no word about Tonga’s inclusion, but it would be a surprise if he was not part of the field.

In a quieter but remarkable announcement, Santos Escobar also confirmed his entry into the men’s Royal. In view of his commitment, it would not be shocking to see the rest of Legado del Fantasma.

Royal Rumble from women Royal Rumble

On the side of the women, Piper Niven, Zelina Vega and Candice Lerae were confirmed as participants. However, only Lerae received the screen time to announce their participation.

Lerae confronted Tiffany Stratton and called her up a month ago because of her money in Nia Jax’s briefcase to become the WWE woman.

The moment turned into a setup when Nia Jax overflowed and destroyed it with an annialator finisher.

WWE Royal Rumble 2025 surprises?

With so many confirmed places – and if you are considering fewer prominent members of parliamentary groups such as Legado del Fantasma, there will probably be three to five places in every rumble for surprise climbers.

Here the Royal Rumble becomes really exciting. Many fans have their hopes for appearances by people like Joe Hendry, Trick Williams, Jordynne Grace, Nic Nemeth, Randy Orton, Jade Cargill, Asuka, Malakai Black, AJ Lee and others.

It is difficult to determine a clear favorite, since many competitors have strong action lines in both men and women games that could justify a victory. This is not even the potential for a surprise participant who steals the victory.

As it is, mark me for cm punk. I think the WWE has every intention to assign punk with the main event spot at Wrestlemania 41. The real drama will enter this game with that.
