2 arrested after police find stolen U-Haul at gas station in Lebanon, Tennessee

LEBANON, Tenn. (WKRN) – Using license plate recognition technology, Lebanon law enforcement announced Saturday they tracked down a stolen vehicle and took two people into custody.

According to a Facebook post from Lebanon Police on Saturday, November 30, SafeNet issued an alert about a stolen U-Haul out of Nashville over the weekend. Two officers quickly spotted the vehicle parked at the Speedway gas station on N. Cumberland Street.

Authorities said they found a female passenger and learned the driver went into the store but fled when police arrived. Shortly afterwards, another officer reportedly found a person matching the driver’s description in the area.

Police said they have confirmed the identity of the driver, who was charged with theft of property and driving with a revoked license. Both the driver and passenger – who had a warrant out of Sumner County for his arrest – were arrested without further incident, but officers did not release their identities.
