Meanwhile, the top four seeds – Oregon, Texas, Miami and Boise State – remained unchanged, setting the stage for an exciting Week 14.

How many teams are participating in the 2024 College Football Playoff?

In the 2024 college football season, 12 teams will qualify for the College Football Playoff. The top five conference champions receive automatic bids. The remaining seven highest-ranked overall teams will fill out the remainder of the 12-team field.

How does the College Football Playoff format work?

The 12 participating teams in the College Football Playoff round are the five conference champions rated highest by the CFP selection committee and the next best seven at-large teams.

The top four ranked conference champions are seeded one through four and receive a bye in the first round. The fifth conference champion will be seeded wherever they were ranked in the top 12 or, if they finished outside the rankings, at No. 12 overall. Non-conference champions placed in the top four will be seeded starting at No. 5.
