Beetlejuice Beetlejuice confirms streaming release date

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice has confirmed a streaming release in the US.

The long-awaited sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 dark fantasy sees the return of Michael Keaton’s titular Poltergeist, Winona Ryder’s Lydia Deetz and Catherine O’Hara’s Delia Deetz Wednesday Actress Jenna Ortega joins the cast as Lydia’s teenage daughter Astrid.

Following its theatrical release in September, it was confirmed that the film would be available to stream in the US on Max December 6th. The film is streaming on Sky in the UK, but there is no word yet on when it will be available.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice The story begins decades after the first film with a death in the family and leads to Delia, Lydia and Astrid returning home to Winter River.

“Still haunted by Betelgeuse, Lydia soon finds herself upended when her rebellious teenage daughter discovers a mysterious portal to the afterlife,” the official synopsis reads.

“If anyone says Betelgeuse’s name three times, the mischievous demon will happily return to unleash his own brand of chaos.”

Other cast members include Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Willem Dafoe, Burn Gorman, Danny DeVito and House of the DragonThis is Arthur Conti.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice debuted upon its release with a “Certified Fresh” score of 76% on the review website Rotten Tomatoes, falling just short of the original film’s score of 82%.

“Michael Keaton’s devious poltergeist still has plenty of power left in this zany return to form from Tim Burton, combining charming practical effects and spooky gags to make for a fun, entertaining time,” reads the site’s critical consensus.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice begins streaming on Max in the US on December 6th. The film is Available to buy or rent on Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store and more in the UK.
