Your 25-day vacation list for Hoboken and Jersey City in 2024

It’s no secret that Hudson County is always welcoming new businesses – from restaurants and bars to skin care salons and fitness studios, there’s always something new and exciting to discover in our area of ​​New Jersey. It’s time to add four more places to your list, as there’s a new dining location in Jersey City, another in Weehawken, another in Hoboken, and another already open in Chilltown. Read on to learn what we know about each of these new Hudson County businesses – Prime Omakase and Hashi Market in Jersey City, DRIFT Restaurant + Bar in Weehawken and Apollo Bagels in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Prime Omakase | 111 Montgomery Street 2nd Floor, Jersey City

Prime Omakase comes from the same team behind East Hana JC – a Japanese restaurant at 103 Montgomery Street. This new omakase and sushi restaurant is located directly across from Liberty Prime Steakhouse at 111 Montgomery Street.

The restaurant bills itself as “the best omakase experience in Jersey City,” according to its website. The menu features authentic Japanese sushi sets and starters, nigiri, hand rolls and sushi rolls, as well as a selection of sake and Japanese whiskey. The 12-course omakase experience can be enjoyed at the sushi bar counter (for $100) or at a regular table (for $90) and includes soup, a sashimi appetizer, a fried course, an eight-piece daily nigiri and a Chef hand roll.

Prime Omakase is open Monday to Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. If you would like to organize an event here, you can contact us by email (email protected).

Hashi Market | 75 Park Lane South, Jersey City

Hashi Market, a New York-based Japanese-style supermarket, is crossing the Hudson River to soon open its first outpost in New Jersey. The new market will be located at 75 Park Lane South in the Park + Shore development and signage has already been posted in the windows Jersey Digs. The market’s other location is at 363 Greenwich Street in New York City. Two additional locations are coming soon: 93 University Place and 330 5th Avenue.

Hashi Market offers a wide selection of Japanese foods and, according to its website, includes three components: a fresh food supermarket, a mini-department store and catering services. Food Jersey City locals can expect at this new location includes Japanese cuisine such as sushi, fruits and vegetables, as well as international snacks and drinks. DRIFT Restaurant + Bar | 1200 Harbor Boulevard, Weehawken

DRIFT Restaurant + Bar will soon be the newest addition to Weehawken’s Lincoln Harbor area – which we first reported on in January 2024. The 17,000 square foot space formerly occupied by Houlihan’s has been vacant since 2019 Jersey Digs. DRIFT is the latest project from restaurateur Jeremy Casilli, who also owns Hudson + Co at 3 Second Street in Jersey City, Pier 115 at 115 River Road in Edgewater, and two New York restaurants.

While the depictions of mid-century modern interiors with olive trees and emerald green and brown decor are stunning in their own right, a unique feature of this new restaurant and bar will be a rotating dining platform that does a complete rotation every hour – the Offer guests a view of the New York skyline. There will also be a 4,000-square-foot outdoor terrace with a retractable pergola.

The DRIFT team shared the menu The Hoboken Girl that it will focus on modern American cuisine with global influences and an emphasis on seafood, prepared by Chef Bryan Noury. Food options include small plates, sushi + hand rolls, a raw bar, caught fish, steaks, flatbreads and more.

According to the restaurant’s Instagram, DRIFT will officially open in Weehawken on Wednesday, November 13th. Reservations can be made here via OpenTable.

Apollo Bagels | Hoboken

Rumors are swirling that New York-based Apollo Bagels is making its New Jersey debut in Mile Square. HG has reached out to the Apollo team, and while the location is currently being kept secret, the team said it will provide more information as it becomes available. The bagel shop is known for its plain bagels and sesame bagels, as well as bagel sandwiches, smoked salmon, whitefish and other spreads.
