Ramapo Police respond to shots fired – attempted murder

On Monday, November 25, 2024, at approximately 12:22 a.m., Ramapo Police responded to East Eckerson Road in the Town of Ramapo for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found evidence that at least nine shots had been fired from a passing vehicle. No victims were reportedly hit and no one was injured. Two suspects were arrested on Monday, November 25, 2024, as part of ongoing investigations. These two suspects, both male, 22 years old, are from Yonkers, NY and 19 years old, of Newburgh, NY, were charged with Attempted Murder 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 1* Degree, Reckless Endangerment 1* Degree and Conspiracy 2nd Degree. They were arraigned in Ramapo City Court. The investigation is ongoing and no further details will be released at this time. Ramapo Police were assisted at the scene by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
