Bay Animal Control lowers adoption fees to help animals find “forever homes.”

PANAMA CITY – Serina Junger says the holidays are the perfect time to help more animals find their “forever homes.”

As animal services director for Bay County, Junger said Bay County Animal Control is working to make that happen by reducing the adoption fee from $25 to $10 this week. The facility, located at 6401 Bay Line Drive, had about 20 dogs and 15 cats available for adoption Friday.

All are up to date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered and microchipped.

To help more animals find their forever homes, Bay County Animal Control is lowering its adoption fee from $25 to $10 this week.

“We are very close to capacity,” she said. “Animal shelter management is very important. Once we reach those higher numbers (and our kennels are full), then we will start looking at different options to relocate the animals.”

Junger pointed out that the facility is the only animal shelter that serves the entire district. It takes in both strays and dogs or cats surrendered by their owners.
