Why did Justin Timberlake cancel his concert in Oklahoma City? Find out here

Justin Timberlake has canceled his December 2, 2024 concert at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City due to a back injury. The announcement was made via his Instagram Story on November 30, in which the singer apologized to fans and explained that his doctors advised him to take longer rest after suffering a back injury in New Orleans. He expressed regret and said, “I hate doing this.”

This is the eighth show Timberlake has postponed during his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, which began in April 2024. The tour promotes his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was, which was released in March. In early October, he had to postpone six shows in cities such as Columbus, Detroit, Chicago and St. Paul due to bronchitis and laryngitis. Another October appearance in Newark was postponed due to an unspecified injury, but took place later.

Despite these setbacks, Timberlake is expected to return to the stage in Houston on December 4th, assuming he recovers as planned. The tour is scheduled to run through December 20th before taking a holiday break. The sequel takes place on January 13, 2025 and includes stops across North America as well as festivals in South America and Europe.

Fans in Oklahoma City are awaiting news of a rescheduled date, and Timberlake promises updates soon. In the meantime, he encouraged anyone interested to check his official website for changes and new dates.

This tour has faced numerous disruptions since its launch, including postponements due to illness earlier in the year. Timberlake’s album Everything I Thought It Was debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and is his first solo release since 2018’s Man of the Woods. Although the album received mixed reviews, tracks like Selfish and Technicolor were fan favorites at live shows.

While the exact details of Timberlake’s back injury have not yet been revealed, his recent cancellations reflect the challenges that come with maintaining a demanding touring schedule. Fans expressed their disappointment but also supported his decision to prioritize his health. Timberlake’s team has assured audiences that updates will follow and that he looks forward to being back on stage soon.
