Update on Neal Brown’s future at WVU: “In-depth discussions” underway

It’s uncertain whether West Virginia football head coach Neal Brown’s future has been decided or not, but there appear to be “deep discussions” underway about his future.

The news was published out of Football Scoop Sources reported Sunday morning that Brown and athletic department leadership were in discussions about his future at WVU – the same sources also appeared to confirm previous reports that Brown’s alma mater UMass could be interested in the veteran head coach to fill their vacancy same place.

Additionally, it was also mentioned that sources reported that other athletic directors have also called to do background work on Brown – suggesting he may be able to find a landing spot quickly if he does indeed leave or is terminated.

Another WVU media personality who writes for the Medium blog Talkineer specified He said on social media that these rumors also confirmed what he had heard and that he had been told that the first meeting to discuss Brown’s future took place on November 21st.

According to veteran MetroNews correspondent Hoppy Kercheval on 3 boys before the game Podcast on Sunday, Athletic Director Wren Baker and President Gordon Gee want Keeping Brown on board, but “the pressure grows when you put in the performance you did in this game.”
