Local students and residents are helping to thank New Jersey’s veterans for the holidays

MORRIS COUNTYRep. Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) and her office collected and distributed thousands of Thanksgiving thank you notes for veterans throughout New Jersey, written by New Jersey residents 11th District of New Jersey.

“Thank you to all the students and community members who participated in this year’s Thanksgiving Thank You for Veterans program. Our veterans and their families make tremendous sacrifices to keep us safe, and it is important that we take time around Thanksgiving to show our appreciation for their service to our nation. I know veterans across New Jersey have really enjoyed the cards.” said Representative Sherrill.

The fourth annual Thanksgiving Thanksgiving program provided an opportunity to thank local veterans and active military members in the community. Notes were distributed to military and VA facilities; experienced service providers; and VFWs and American Legions throughout New Jersey. Thank you, collected by Office of Representative Sherrill were distributed to organizations serving New Jersey’s veterans and military personnel, including:

•U.S. Coast Guard Training Center, Cape May
•Preakness Health Center
•Morris County Veterans Services Office
•Picatinny Arsenal
•Boonton Fire Station
•Community hope
•Paramus Veterans Memorial Home
• Menlo Park Veterans Memorial Home
•Vineland Veterans Memorial Home
