Disney’s Hulu and Fox Entertainment extend four-year streaming deal

Hulu will continue to be the U.S. streaming home for Fox’s “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy,” “The Masked Singer” and other shows for at least the next four years.

Fox Entertainment by Fox Corp. and Disney’s Hulu announced a multi-year extension to their content partnership that includes streaming rights to Fox’s in-season programming. The agreement also includes the expansion of the marketing alliance the two companies entered into in January 2023, under which the Fox and Hulu brands will have a joint presence across all Fox-owned and third-party consumer touchpoints “to participate in live and on-demand -To target viewing of Fox content.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to sources, the contract extension is for a period of four years.

Fox Corp. does not operate its own subscription streaming service and has relied on its Hulu partnership to monetize content in the subscription VOD space. Separately, Fox operates Tubi, a free, ad-supported streamer.

Under the terms of the agreement with Disney, Fox’s primetime entertainment programs will air – including “The Masked Singer,” “The Floor,” Gordon Ramsay’s “Next Level Chef,” “Bob’s Burgers,” “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy,” “Animal Control” and the new Fox fall dramas “Rescue: HI-Surf” and “Murder in a Small Town” continue to air on Hulu the next day after their linear broadcast streamed.

Hulu General Manager Lauren Tempest said: “The long-standing, valued partnership we have with Fox has solidified Hulu as the streaming home for current Fox hits and offseason episodes of key Fox titles, and we look forward to it , to carry on.” We offer these scripted, unscripted and animated series to our subscribers. Our joint marketing efforts, which continue with this new agreement, have delivered impressive results, helping viewers successfully find the shows they want to watch, at the right time.”

Fox series produced by Disney Television Studios include animated hits The Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob’s Burgers and The Great North. Fox’s in-house unscripted studio, Fox Alternative Entertainment, produces “The Masked Singer,” “Crime Scene Kitchen,” “Name That Tune” and, in collaboration with Fox and Gordon Ramsay’s studio Ramsay Global, “Next Level Chef,” “Kitchen Nightmares.” and Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars.

Additionally, Fox Entertainment Studios is producing the single-camera comedy “Animal Control.” The studio is also behind the upcoming midseason military comedy “Going Dutch,” starring Denis Leary. Animated comedies “Krapopolis,” directed by Dan Harmon, “Grimsburg,” starring and executive produced by Jon Hamm, and “Universal Basic Guys,” directed by the Malamut Brothers, are produced by Fox animation studio Bento Box Entertainment.
