Overall, what do you think of this year’s Syracuse football season?

I was very impressed with the Syracuse football team’s overall season this year. They pulled off a huge win against Miami after trailing big early, capping a very successful first year under head coach Fran Brown. Quarterback Kyle McCord leads the country in passing yards and after a poor end to his Ohio State career, he delivered in every way for the Orange. Below is my brief opinion on it, as seen in The Times Union:

What a first season for Syracuse head coach Fran Brown, finishing 9-3 with a memorable 42-38 win over Miami. Brown changed the climate the moment he walked into the JMA Wireless Dome, and the main reason why was quarterback Kyle McCord leaving Ohio State. McCord became the first Syracuse quarterback to throw for over 4,000 yards in a single season, and he was nothing short of brilliant for most of the season. Brown proved in one season that he knows how to enter the transfer portal and he was able to convince several high-profile players to come to Syracuse, and that wasn’t easy. Let’s see if this season is the start of something big for Syracuse football in the future.

Now Syracuse will play in a good bowl game later in December, which they earned with a great regular season. Fran Brown is here to stay and he has rebuilt the culture of this program. He will be making some important recruits here in the coming years.
