This Austin book swap will help you find your next great read before the holidays

As the end of the year approaches, there is almost nothing better than curling up with a book, a cup of piping hot coffee and turning the page of a new book. (Just try to avoid breaking the spines.)

When it comes to finding your next great read, you may have a huge pile of books to read on your nightstand, but maybe you also want to have some fun with it. This is where KUT comes into play. We’re hosting a book swap at Rivian’s South Congress space on Thursday, December 12th and want you to join us.

This is how it will work. Bring a book that you have read and loved, but would like to pass on to another reader. We will get together and talk about the best books we read this year and the books we brought to swap. Consider this your chance to wax poetic about your choice. Tell us why you liked it so much and what you think it brings to readers. Then everyone draws a number and the exchange begins in the same way as a white elephant gift exchange.

Everyone will go home with a new book and some Christmas cheer for the new year. Please register on the event page to give us an idea of how many people to expect.

When: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 12th.
Where: Rivian Austin – 208 S. Congress Ave., Austin
What to bring: A book you loved and want to part with

A quick note about parking: We recommend arriving to the event early to find parking. Rivian has a limited number of spaces on its lot behind the building. Street parking in the area is probably your best bet. There are also a number of paid properties and garages nearby.

Support for the Field Guide to Austin comes from Rivian.
