The best Cyber Monday streaming deals of 2024

There is good news and bad news, dear reader. The bad news is that winter is officially upon us and motivation to leave the house is at an all-time low. You can settle down for the next few months and pretend you’re a movie lover or enjoy your prestige TV at a bargain price. Max, Hulu, Peacock and Paramount, most big-name services offer limited-time offers with discounts of up to 90 percent. If you’ve been wanting to sign up for a new streaming platform or cancel your subscription and re-subscribe with a different email address, now is the time to do it.

The best deals we see are on the monthly plans, which start at less than a dollar per month for Hulu. The offers apply to all new customers, although in some cases regular customers are also eligible. Be sure to look at the fine print.

The biggest caveat? Of course, these discounts will not last forever. If you renew, you pay the full price. But big savings are big savings, even if it’s just a ploy to get you signed up again. Since we all use most of these services anyway, the stakes are pretty low. Take the free money wherever you can:

The fine print: It’s the simplest service, but also the cheapest: Hulu’s Cyber Monday sale lets you watch the entire platform (with ads) for just under a dollar a month for the first year. It applies to new customers and returning subscribers unless you canceled within the last month. Not bad for a streamer that has brought us an extensive catalog of shows including The bear, only murders in the buildingAnd Abbott Elementary School.

The fine print: If you have kids (or just love animated classics), you can add a Disney+ membership to your Hulu account for a total savings of 72 percent. Similar to the basic offering, this version contains advertising and has the same limitations for recurring subscribers.

The deal: $2.99/month (regular price: $10.99/month)

The fine print: Formerly known as HBO, the artist is home to award-winning appointment television as well as an incredible selection of films and even the Turner Classic Movie archive. Despite all this, we would call it the most worthwhile offer of the day, even if it includes advertising. The discount is valid in the US and only lasts six months before you need to renew it. Both new and returning subscribers are eligible.

The deal: $2.99/month (regular price: $12.99/month)

The fine print: Both new and former subscribers can sign up for this package, which includes over 40,000 TV episodes and movies, including SHOWTIME originals. You get an ad-free viewing experience and can download whatever you want to watch on the go. The catch? This offer is valid for your first two months only.

There’s also a basic Paramount+-only version of this deal, but given the same price, we think this package is more worthwhile.

The deal: $1.99/month (regular price: $7.99/month)

The fine print: Once the forgotten middle child of the streaming world, NBC’s Peacock is a real force with original shows like Poker face This is rounded off by an extensive catalog of classics –The Office, 30 Rock, And SNL—and a decent live sports product. All of this makes the current 75 percent discount worthwhile. Pay just under $2 for the first six months and stream on up to three devices simultaneously. Additionally, if you already have a Peacock account, you can participate in the offer by logging into your profile and adding the offer to your account.

The fine print: Hold onto. All these streaming service offerings make you think: Are streaming services just reverse engineering of cable? Yes! But this is where television lives now.
