Alabama OL Tyler Booker explains why the Tide deserve to be in the playoffs

Alabama football ended its 2024 regular season with a 28-14 win over Auburn in the Iron Bowl, improving to 9-3, but the Crimson Tide are currently still on the outside and have little chance of making it the college football playoffs.

Crimson Tide offensive lineman Tyler Booker believes the Crimson Tide deserve a playoff spot. The junior and team captain made his argument Monday during his weekly segment on “The Next Round.”

“I feel like the playoffs are designed to have the 12 best teams in the country, and if you watch the film and think that Alabama isn’t one of the 12 best teams in the country, I don’t know what “I would call it the 12 best teams,” Booker said. “Based on the schedule we played and the talent we have on our team, I definitely think we are one of the top 12 teams in the country. And our record may not be the greatest, but when Alabama plays, we are definitely one of the twelve best teams in the country.”

With no SEC title game, Booker and Alabama are sitting idle this week, waiting for the latest CFP pitch to be set on Tuesday night.
