China is tightening controls on the export of dual-use goods to the US

China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced on Tuesday measures to tighten its control over the export of relevant dual-use items to the United States, as part of efforts to protect national security and interests and adhere to non-proliferation and other international obligations fulfill. News.az reports citing Xinhua.

According to a statement on the MOC’s website, the export of dual-use items to U.S. military users or for military purposes is prohibited.

In principle, the export of dual-use goods made of gallium, germanium, antimony and superhard materials should not be permitted to the USA; stricter examinations of the end users and end uses must be carried out when exporting. According to the declaration, it should be a graphite article with dual use in the United States act.

According to the MOC, this announcement is effective as of the date of publication.

Any organization or individual from a country or region that transfers or provides relevant dual-use items originating in the People’s Republic of China to the United States in violation of the above provisions will be held legally liable, the statement said .

Dual-use goods are goods, technologies and services that can be used either for civil or military purposes or to increase military potential, in particular for the design, development, production or use of weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery.
