Christmas Day may still be weeks away, but we can unwrap one present a little earlier: Spotify Wrapped 2024.

Spotify Wrapped is widely referred to as the gayest holiday of the year (here it’s Halloween). With Spotify Wrapped, the streaming giant releases its annual listenership data, allowing users to dive deep into their own listening habits for 2024.

Since it began in 2016, the Spotify Wrapped reveal has become a major annual social media tradition, getting bigger and more elaborate every year.

Although users can still learn the most important information about what they streamed – their most played song and artist, their favorite genre, how often they listened to an artist compared to other users, etc. – Spotify has made the campaign with each year that As time passes, it becomes more detailed and interactive.

Last year, Spotify announced that its Wrapped campaign was its largest and most successful to date. The results were formatted into a highly detailed presentation that was easily shared by users on social media – and thus went viral.

Rival music streamer Apple has tried to emulate the Wrapped campaign, while other brands that have nothing to do with music at all – including Grindr – have started releasing their own annual Wrapped-style recaps.

When will Spotify Wrapped 2024 be released?

Every year as December approaches, rumors circulate on social media about when Spotify Wrapped will be released. Historically, it was the first week of December, and this year it seems to be the same: online, avid Spotify users seem to think it will be released on Wednesday, December 4th.

Spotify hasn’t confirmed the date yet, although the platform has started teasing that it will be available in the very near future.

Last Thursday, November 28, the streaming platform posted a short clip on social media featuring the redesigned Spotify logo in the style of some of 2024’s biggest albums, including Charli XCX’s bratBeyonce’s Cowboy CarterChappell Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwestern Princessand Sabrina Carpenter’s Short and sweet.

In follow-up social media posts, Spotify explained that “patience is a virtue” in response to users asking when Wrapped is coming.

How do I get my Spotify Wrapped?

When Spotify Wrapped is released, users of the app should receive a notification letting them know that their 2024 listening habits are available to explore. Additionally, once the app is opened, a banner will appear alerting users that their packaged data is available to view.

Alternatively, users of the app can access their Wrapped data via the website www.spotify.com/us/wrapped/.

Following the arrival of Spotify Wrapped, the streaming service will automatically create a playlist for users with their most listened to songs of the year.

After a pretty mammoth year in the music world that saw a legion of queer and queer-friendly pop icons release some of their best work yet, there’s no telling which artist will be the most streamed in 2024.

But gays, girls and boys can expect to see Charli XCX, Chappell Roan, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Sabrina Carpenter and more on their Wrapped playlists.
