Holiday travelers head to Minot Airport for Thanksgiving

MINOT, N.D. (KXNET) – Hundreds of holiday travelers headed to Minot International Airport are planning a holiday getaway for Thanksgiving as winter conditions continue in the Magic City.

The airport has increased its staffing and terminal hours heading into the winter to provide the best possible experience for growing passenger volumes during the busy holiday season.

A couple of vacationers KX News contacted were Brian Bronowski and his wife, who were heading to Arizona after planning the trip 10 months in advance.

“When we do things, we plan ahead. We plan ahead, it’s still a bit expensive but that’s okay, it’s money well spent. There is a time to spend money and another time not to,” Bronowski said.

Bronowski says his favorite part of this trip to Arizona will be seeing his daughter.

“See her because it’s been many years since she moved there and she’s in a wheelchair with limited mobility,” Bronowski said.

Bronowski’s wife adds that Minot International Airport is both convenient and the closest airport to their home from which they can fly across the country.

“What we like about the trip to Minot is that it only takes about two and a half hours for us because we only have a small airport at home that usually only flies to Billings, so it’s a nice drive there, it’s a smaller airport . “You don’t have all the traffic,” Bronowski’s wife said.

“Vacation is sparse, so it’s hard to go everywhere you’d like to be over the years, but it’ll definitely be fun,” Bronowski said.

Now, if you are traveling domestically, you must arrive at the airport at least one hour before your flight is scheduled to depart.
