Vandals Roll Orediggers 94-54 – University of Idaho Athletics

MOSCOW, Idaho – Anja Bukvic scored a career-high 24 points on 6-for-11 from the three-point line and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Idaho to a 94-54 victory over Montana Tech on Wednesday at ICCU Arena.

Hope Hassmann 13 points added, Ana Pinheiro scored 12 points and Jennifer Aadland 10 for the Vandals in their win over the NAIA Orediggers.

Idaho rallied early, scoring a season-high 28 points in the first quarter and taking a 28-12 lead at the end of the frame. The Vandals were 10-18 (55.6%) in the first period, including 6-10 (60%) from the three-point line.

Idaho continued to extend the lead in the second quarter and took a 52-29 lead into halftime.

Bukvic scored 17 of her 24 points in the first half and went 5-8 from the field. The Vandals also limited their turnovers to just three before halftime.

In the second half, the story was largely similar: Idaho continued to increase its lead, building a 94-52 lead before Montana Tech scored a layup in the final seconds of the game to tie the game at 94-54.

Idaho finished the game 32-67 (47.8%) from the field and 15-33 (45.5%) from the three-point line. The Vandal offense collected 20 assists on 32 shots made and turned the ball over just seven times.

The win is the fifth in a row for Idaho, which is now 5-2 on the year. The Vandals are back in action on Saturday, Dec. 7 against St. Thomas (Minn.). The game will be played at Memorial Gym as the game begins the same day at ICCU Arena. The game was moved to noon to accommodate the Idaho FCS playoff game.
