Car and Driver magazine releases a list of the “10 Best” cars, trucks and SUVs for 2025

MEETING NEXT WEEK. NEW THIS MORNING: OUR CAR AND DRIVER PARTNERS HAVE REVEALED THEIR ANNUAL TEN BEST LISTS FOR 2025. THE LIST SHOWS OUT THE TEN BEST CARS AND THE TEN BEST TRUCKS AND SUVS ON THE MARKET. UNDER $110,000. THAT FULFILL THEIR MISSION, PROVIDE VALUE AND HAVE A GREAT DRIVING EXPERIENCE. This morning we welcome Cars and Drivers Editor-in-Chief Tony Quiroga. TONY, good morning. THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE. GOOD MORNING. THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME. Of course, first of all, explain to people what criteria you actually want to use to create this list. And how do you ultimately choose the winners? Well, we’re picking the 25 or all 2025 cars that are new and on sale before the end of January. As you mentioned, we have a price cap of $110,000, but we do value for value. GREAT DEAL. The cheaper the car, the more interesting it is to us, because it is harder to make a great car cheap than to make an expensive car great. I completely understand that. AND OF COURSE THE PEOPLE ARE VERY INTERESTED WHO WANT TO SAVE AND STILL HAVE A CAR THAT HAS GREAT VALUE. That’s why we don’t want to keep you waiting any longer. LET’S TALK ABOUT THE LIST. WHO IS ON THE LIST OF THE TEN BEST CARS FOR 2025? Well, on the list we have a return. MANY OF THEM ARE RETURNING. IF YOU WIN THE TOP TEN, YOU CAN COME BACK EVERY YEAR AND DEFEND YOUR POSITION. WHICH GUARANTEES THAT IT IS NOT ONLY THE BEST OF THE NEW BUT THE BEST OF WHAT’S ON THE MARKET. So we have a lot of returning cars like the Honda Accord, the Honda Civic and the Chevrolet Corvette. WE HAVE SOME NEWCOMERS WITH THE MERCEDES-BENZ E450 AND THE TESLA MODEL THREE LONG RANGE. WE HAVEN’T TESTED A TESLA MODEL 3 IN A LONG TIME AND HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THE PROGRESS AND UPDATES THAT HAVE BEEN MADE TO IT. IN ORDER. AND TALK ABOUT THE 10 BEST TRUCKS AND SUVS. We really love the Ford Ranger Raptor. IT’S A PERFORMANCE FORD RANGER. It starts at just under $60,000, which really isn’t much more. Isn’t that a lot of money for a pickup? NOWADAYS. And the other novelty that we are excited about is the Volkswagen ID Buzz. IT’S YOUR NEW ELECTRIC VAN. IT HAS THREE ROWS OF SEATS. THERE’S NOT MUCH ELECTRICITY WITH SO MANY SEATING. It’s super fun to drive and looks fantastic. TONY Was there anything that surprised you about some of the cars that were on the list? THIS YEAR? THE CARS, TRUCKS OR SUVS? IT’S A RETURNER. It is a car that was returned last year. THE CHEVY TRAX. It starts at just over $20,000 and we continue to be amazed at how expensive it feels. Like I said, it’s not easy to make a budget car feel great, but this is definitely a great car for people who are in the market now and looking for cars Looking for something that you know is pretty affordable, especially for A FAMILY. Is there one you would recommend? DEFINITELY THE CHEVY TRAX. I would let them look at the Kia Telluride. That’s another one I believe. HIS FIFTH YEAR ON THE LIST. IT’S SPECTACULAR. It’s a wonderful three-row SUV. IT STARTED IN THE MID-30S AND NOW IT’S GETTING MORE EXPENSIVE. BUT AT THIS PRICE IT IS A GREAT VEHICLE. Yes, so TONY. THANK YOU for being with us. THIS MORNING. WHERE CAN OUR VIEWERS ACTUALLY GET THIS FULL ARTICLE AND ALL THE DETAILS? PLEASE VISIT CARANDDRIVER.COM WHERE YOU CAN SEE COMPLETE COVERAGE OF OUR TEN BEST LISTS. IMPRESSIVE. And folks at home, we have the QR code showing on your screen right now for you to check.
