R-rated horror film dominates Disney Plus streaming

The horror genre is becoming increasingly popular, so Disney Plus subscribers will be happy to know that their service also offers a variety of horror films. Such a horror film is actually dominating the streaming platform, making this R-rated hit an ongoing success after its theatrical release.

This horror film actually hit theaters earlier this year and became a huge success in the process, and now fans continue to pay attention to the film. It has actually become the number 4 film on Disney Plus worldwide. This puts it above a surprising number of films in its top 10 category, including Christmas classics like Home alone and the MCU blockbuster Avengers: Endgame.

Subscribers probably wouldn’t expect a horror film to outdo such films, especially at a time when everyone is thinking about the holidays. However, it looks like the hype surrounding this 2024 R-rated horror film has only increased. Now, subscribers are flocking to watch the film on Disney Plus.

The film with the title Alien: Romulusis the latest edition of the Foreigner film franchise. What’s interesting about this particular installment, however, is that it takes place between the events of Foreigner And Aliens. This puts the story at a point where Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley is still in cryosleep, but the overall setting is quite similar to the original Foreigner.

Therefore, it’s a great way to bring the franchise back to its roots, and not only that, but also drop nods that either pave the way for the story of Aliens or tie things back with Prometheus And Alien: Covenant. Ultimately, it looks like Disney has some very exciting plans for this Foreigner film franchise and Alien: Romulus is just the tip of the iceberg.
