New York Produce Show Keynote Teaches “How to Build Business Through Storytelling”

Matthew Luhn, acclaimed storyteller and creative force behind some of the most dynamic Disney/Pixar films, including Toy story, High And Find Nemowill be the keynote speaker at this year’s New York Produce Show and Conference in Manhattan on December 11th.

Luhn will share his unique perspective on captivating an audience and the art of storytelling – a key to success for all businesses – during the opening breakfast at the Jacob Javits Center. The morning meeting is one of dozens of special events and demonstrations taking place this Wednesday, including the massive trade show that will welcome more than 4,000 visitors and nearly 400 exhibitors.

The theme of this year’s New York Produce Show is “Where Passion Becomes Action,” a celebration of the rich, intergenerational history and enthusiasm of the people that make the fresh produce industry unique. In addition to the keynote breakfast that introduces attendees to the art of business storytelling, numerous educational sessions and networking events at the three-day conference (December 10-12) will provide tips and insights to help businesses perform better.

“We are extremely honored to have Matthew at this year’s show, at a time when storytelling and branding are so important to everyone working in the food industry,” said Ken Whitacre, New York Produce Show organizer and CEO /Editor of produce business Magazine. “Matthew’s credentials in the creative field speak for themselves, but his efforts in helping companies realize their dreams have been equally impressive.”

Luhn worked for more than 25 years on some of the greatest animated films of all time. He was involved in the first three Toy Story films and has been involved in character development, animation, storyboarding and writing on top Pixar films such as: Monsters Inc., Cars And Ratatouille. It was a dream come true for Luhn, the son of a toy store owner who wanted a career as an animator at Disney. Appreciating his father’s creative drive, Matthew began drawing at the age of three… and ended up in Hollywood.

But Luhn’s career path didn’t end there. He is the author of a book titled Best Story Wins: How to Use Hollywood Storytelling in Business and Beyondand began consulting for companies such as Charles Schwab and Adidas.

Recognizing the power of his ability to help companies leverage their own stories, Luhn joined the panel. Since then, he has spoken to executives at Target, Coca-Cola, Procter and Gamble, BMW, Warner Brothers, Sony and Google, to name a few. Today, he spends much of his time inspiring others to do what he did as an animator and creative leader: consistently innovate, be curious, and follow some of the same creative formulas that go into building memorable and lasting Connections are used.

We’re celebrating his 15thTh This year, the New York Produce Show will once again feature a number of special events at the opening breakfast, including the unveiling of the Joe Nucci Award for Most Innovative Product.
