Idaho Falls water main valve replacement begins Dec. 5 – LocalNews8.com

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (City of Idaho Falls) – The City of Idaho Falls Water Department will be replacing a water main valve on the 2500 block of South Boulevard on Thursday, December 5th.

The work is scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m. and is expected to be completed around 5:00 p.m. The actual duration of the water closure for residents depends on the prevailing conditions. Any residents whose water service is compromised will be personally notified by Water Department staff.

Residents are requested to take appropriate measures to store water for their expected daily needs.

Traffic will be affected. There will only be local traffic on South Boulevard and 25th Street to South Boulevard and Hartert. Drivers will have to look for alternative routes.

Additionally, as water service is restored to the area, residents may notice discoloration in the water. Affected residents are advised to run their cold water until it runs clear before consuming.

Please reduce speed, obey traffic signs and watch for construction crews throughout the work area.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we replace the water valve as quickly as possible.
