This is what you can expect in Forest Park starting summer 2025

ST. LOUIS, Missouri (First Alert 4) – Forest Park is full of must-see destinations.

Popular places like The Boathouse, Art Hill, the Zoo, The Muny and the Nature Playscape continue to attract people. However, most of the popular excursion destinations are in the center or on the west side of the park.

The east side of the park is known for being sleepy and passive. Unlike the Steinberg Rink, it is a protected area with plenty of green space, a feature that Forest Park hopes to improve through the Waterways project.

“A complete restoration of Jefferson Lake, Bowl Lake, which is further south, and Round Lake with the new fountain that opened this time last year,” said David Lenczyski, director of park planning and projects at Forest Park Forever.

The continuous flow of water encourages vegetation and wildlife to thrive.

“We added a brand new waterfall at the south end that can be seen from afar. This will be a completely new waterfall,” Lenczyski said.

New boardwalks, bridges, shorelines and a pavilion will be built. After two years of construction, everything is on track to open in summer 2025.

Forest Park Forever is the nonprofit organization that manages and preserves the park’s 1,300 acres. First Alert 4’s annual fundraising appeal to benefit Forest Park Forever will take place on December 11th. All day long, we’ll be highlighting one of St. Louis’ most popular attractions while raising money to keep it running.
