Chinese companies use North Korean prison workers to make wigs for global sale: report

Chinese companies are using North Korean prison labor to make wigs and false eyelashes for export, according to a new report. They disguise the finished goods as “Made in China” to facilitate their sale around the world.

The investigation by the Seoul-based non-governmental organization Citizens’ Alliance for North Korean Human Rights (NKHR) estimates that the prisoners work up to 20 hours a day and that their products are sold on major e-commerce sites such as Amazon, Temu in China and South Korea could land Gmarket.
