Valley boy basketball opens conference play with a win; Wednesday: Idaho prep basketball results

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) – Winter sports were in full swing Wednesday with plenty of action for everyone.

KMVT was on site at Valley High School as the Vikings boys basketball team (2-0) hosted the Raft River Trojans (0-1).

The Vikings got off to a quick 10-0 start before Raft River fought back after one quarter and fell to 22-15.

Both teams started off strong, resulting in Valley leading by six points at halftime and then moving ahead by one point early in the fourth quarter.

Valley held and defended home court and won 64-54.

Senior Pedro Robles led the Vikings with 22 points, while Josh Hardy and Nathan Christensen added 13 and 11, respectively.

Raft River junior guard led the Trojans with 23 points (six three-pointers).

Both teams are back in action on Friday as Valley plays Oakley on the road while Raft River will face Glenns Ferry.

  • Martin Gonzales gave Hagerman a triple-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals in the first game of the season.
  • Alex Johnson posted an impressive double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Ky Kendall contributed 15 points.
