How to use the Buffer Weight Stock in Black Ops 6

The Buffer Weight Stock is an excellent new attachment, but how do you use it?

The recent Hitlist community event in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 introduced several new items to multiplayer. Although the community hasn’t fully completed the event yet, the first item unlocked was the Buffer Weight Stock, a weapon attachment. Once the attachment was unlocked, many players headed to their favorite loadout to try and equip the stash.

However, most of them noted that the stock is not suitable for every weapon. In fact, there are only three weapons in total in Black Ops 6 that support the Buffer Weight Stock. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t tell you what weapons they are, so you’ll have to check all 30+ weapons yourself. Or just read our guide below and see exactly which weapons you can equip with the Buffer Weight Stock.

Buffer Weight Stock weapons in Black Ops 6

As mentioned, the Buffer Weight Stock is only supported by three weapons:

  1. XM4 (assault rifle)
  2. XMG (light machine gun)
  3. DM-10 (sniper rifle)

If you want to customize the attachments of these weapons in the Gunsmith, all you need to do is select the stock slot. There you will find the unlocked Buffer Weight Stock at the bottom of the list of stocks. The Buffer Weight Stock is unlocked for your weapons regardless of their level.

Select the stock to equip it on your weapon, then enter a match in Black Ops 6 to begin using it.

Buffer Weight Stock stats in Black Ops 6

If you are curious about whether the new stock is worth using or not, here are the stats it offers in multiplayer:

  1. -34-47% shot recoil (positive)
  2. -67-150% horizontal recoil control (positive)
  3. -30-43% vertical recoil control (positive)
  4. -14-29% target movement speed while walking (negative)
  5. +3-21% Down Aim Speed (negative)

As you can see, the Buffer Weight Stock features excellent recoil control and reduces mobility. The percentage fluctuations you see in the stats above are due to the stock having different stats across all three weapons it is available on. The DM-10 has the fewest stat increases/decreases, while the XM4 benefits the most from the Buffer Weight Stock in terms of raw stats.

In our opinion, the new inventory is a tremendous addition to a long-range loadout in Warzone for the XM4 or XMG. However, using it in multiplayer mainly depends on your play style as the attachment slows you down quite a bit.

And that’s all you need to know about the Buffer Weight Stock. Be sure to check out our previous guide to the Hit List event in Black Ops 6 and learn how to complete the entire checklist.
