Groban said he didn’t see Adele’s show at the Colosseum, but he had the opportunity to see Celine Dion.

Over the years, artists such as Madonna, Elton John and Reba McEntire have performed at the prestigious venue.

“I was at one of Celine’s opening nights,” Groban told USA Today. “She set the bar for Vegas and what was possible there…So many singers I admired have graced that stage that now it’s only visible in the walls.” I’ve been there for three or I haven’t been to Las Vegas in four years, so I’m looking forward to going back there at all. It’s going to be a journey.”

It will be Groban’s turn at the Colosseum in May. The short stint, which runs May 9-17, will include five shows and highlight the “gems” of his career, according to USA Today.

But as Groban had more free time during the pandemic, he composed new music at the piano in his bedroom. He ended up writing two new songs for the album.

“If you like writing, just start writing,” he previously told the Deseret News. “You have an idea, or the world around you changes in a way that you feel like you just have to put it out of your head. I didn’t write for the album – I just wrote.”
