Bitauto News – The 20 millionth new Volkswagen brand car officially rolled off the assembly line under FAW-Volkswagen recently. The model is the brand new Tayron L, positioned as a mid-size SUV. It is based on the MQB evo platform, adopts the brand’s new family design language and offers two exterior styles: the standard version and the R-Line version.

Externally, the new Tayron L was redesigned by FAW-Volkswagen. The main differences between the standard version and the R-Line version are in the design of the air intake grille. The standard version has a horizontal bar design inside the air intake grille, while the R-Line version has a mesh design inside the air intake grille.

The new car moves to the side of the vehicle and is characterized by a rising waistline at the rear door. The rim style matches Volkswagen’s aesthetics and the side skirts have silver decor. The car roof is equipped with roof rails. In terms of dimensions, the new car measures 4684 mm in length, 1854 mm in width and 1685 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2791 mm. Compared to the current Tayron model, the length of the new car has increased by 91 mm, the width has decreased by 6 mm, the height has increased by 20 mm and the wheelbase has increased by 60 mm.

At the rear, the new car features the latest full-width taillights, with the TAYRON L logo indicating its identity. The main difference between the standard version and the R-Line version at the rear is the design of the rear bumper. The R-Line version features a more dynamic mesh design and the R logo.

Inside, the new car is equipped with a 15-inch central control screen and a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel, forming a unit with the Tiguan L PRO model. The infotainment system is equipped with an 8155 chip, a 2K central control screen and supports CarPlay and CarLife. The new car features iFlytek’s voice solution with dual-zone voice recognition for the driver and passenger seats, achieving recognition accuracy of over 95%.

In terms of performance, the new car offers a choice of 1.5T and 2.0T high/low output engines. The 1.5 ton engine has a maximum power of 118 kW; the 2.0 ton low-power engine has a maximum power of 137 kW; and the 2.0 ton high-performance engine has a maximum power of 162 kW.
