Haunted Chocolatier receives a long-awaited update

Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone announced on his blog yesterday that after a long absence He is officially back to work on the long-awaited projectHaunted Chocolatier. Announced more than three years ago in October 2021, players were excited to see what the creator of the indie hit had to offer Stardew Valley had up its sleeve, but development has been slow lately.




Because of Barone’s dedication and love for Stardewits major update 1.6 – released for PC in March this year – became a much larger undertaking than originally planned, forces him to sit down Haunted Chocolatier on the back burner. Stardew Fans aren’t exactly complaining about Barone’s continued involvement Stardewwith 1.6 being a widely popular update to the game. He even recently surprised players with some additional content in the recent update 1.6.9, which integrated the console and mobile update 1.6. While players loved all of this new content, many were also aware that it meant Barone most likely wasn’t working on it Haunted Chocolatier.


ConcernedApe’s plan for the further development of Haunted Chocolatier

According to his blog post, Barone is now fully devoting himself to the development of Haunted Chocolatier

Barone explains this in his blog post Stardew ValleyThe 1.6 update was intended as a technical update to expand mod capabilities, and from there it kind of snowballed. After that, he still had to work on patches, bug fixes and ports, which added several months to his full commitment Stardew. With the addition of the newer update 1.6.9, 1.6 now runs smoothly on all platforms and Barone is ready to get back to work Haunted Chocolatier.

Before he had to forfeit the game, Barone said, Haunted Chocolatier had reached a level of development where he was able to make a “vertical cut”. This is apparently a “skeleton of the game with most (not all) of the bones present.” While Barone explains that his love and attachment to Stardew makes it difficult to let go – temporarily – to give it time Haunted Chocolatierhe also feels the same connection to this game. Barone explains in his post that while he has shared very little about the game with the community, for him Haunted Chocolatier is very real and that it is attached to “the characters, themes and ideas.”

Barone states that Haunted Chocolatier There’s still quite a way to go before it’s ready for release, and he has no intention of doing early access or pre-orders. Once it’s finished, players will know. Barone admits he announced it Haunted Chocolatier It’s a little early for the schedule, but there’s no intention of releasing the game before it’s ready. Barone promises he will share more about the game as he continues his workbut don’t be discouraged if it gets dark. He’s still working hard on it Haunted Chocolatier and is probably more excited about the game than anyone else.
