A Broadway production that tells her life story was Parton’s dream, she told PEOPLE in January.

“Right now I’m working on my life story as a musical, and so going to Broadway and opening my show there has been a big goal of mine for many, many years,” she told PEOPLE. “That would be the thing I want to make sure I get done while I’m still active and stick with it.”
