The partnership allows the annual toy drive to continue

The Idaho Foodbank provided storage space to the Salvation Army for its annual toy drive. The goal is to provide toys to 2,000 children in the Boise area.

BOISE, Idaho – With the holiday season in full swing, two local organizations are looking to distribute thousands of toys to children as part of an annual toy drive.

On Thursday, the Idaho Foodbank and the Salvation Army’s Boise Corps announced a partnership for the Salvation Army’s Toy and Joy Christmas distribution. The program provides toys to families in need.

“This collaboration will allow The Salvation Army to store, sort and distribute toys to approximately 2,000 children in the Boise area,” organizers wrote in a press release.

The Idaho Foodbank provided storage space to the Salvation Army, which said it comes at a crucial time “as holiday demand grows and available storage space becomes increasingly limited.”

“By providing storage facilities, the Idaho Foodbank enables the Salvation Army’s Toy and Joy program to operate more efficiently and effectively, ensuring that every toy donated reaches its intended recipient. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to meeting the needs of underserved families and a…Stronger community through collaboration,” organizers said.

The Toy and Joy program is supported by community donations. The Salvation Army is asking the community to donate new and unwrapped toys, which can be dropped off at the Salvation Army Boise Corps or participating locations.

“The Salvation Army hopes to meet the needs of every family seeking assistance this holiday season. Together we can make this Christmas a joyful and hopeful time for all,” organizers said.
