The Hornets don’t get an injury break as Tidjane Salaun goes down and leaves the game

The constantly struggling Charlotte Hornets suffered another loss early on against the New York Knicks. Rookie forward Tidjane Salaun twisted his ankle in the first quarter and had to go to the locker room. The Hornets shut him out in the second quarter.

Tidjane Salaun has been in good form lately and recently posted his first career double-double. Unfortunately, Salaun, who initially did not want to go to the locker room due to an ankle injury, will not return on December 5th.

The Hornets have played well against the Knicks so far despite the lack of healthy players. They were in the lead for most of the competition, but the loss of Salaun is a huge blow. This is a team already missing Miles Bridges, Grant Williams, LaMelo Ball and Tre Mann.

Daquan Jeffries, a former Knick, returned to the lineup after an injury, but health luck ran out when Salaun went down shortly afterward. Due to the lack of depth in the frontcourt, Salaun played relatively long minutes.

Nick Richards and Mark Williams both recently returned to the lineup and it is unclear how long Salaun will be out. An ankle sprain can take weeks to heal properly if that is the final diagnosis.
