ForbesNYT “Connections” tips and answers for Friday, December 6th

Hello! Welcome to the weekend. I hope you have a relaxing and/or entertaining experience.

Other than dinner at a nice restaurant tonight, I don’t have much planned! I just hope I can spend some time relaxing before the busy last full work week of the year.

I’m really looking forward to playing the new Indiana Jones game when it comes out on Monday, especially after it received strong reviews. And then there’ll be plenty of video game news to cover thanks to events like the Game Awards (which are more about trailers than actual awards) and the always delightful indie game show Day of the Devs.

Today NYT Connections Hints and answers for Saturday, December 7th will follow soon.

How to play connections

Connections is a free, popular one New York Times daily pun. You will receive a new puzzle every day at midnight. You can play on that NYT Website or gaming app.

You will be presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to divide them into four groups of four by figuring out the connections between them. The groups can be, for example, elements that you can click on, names of research participants, or words preceded by a body part.

Each puzzle has only one solution, and you have to be careful when it comes to words that could fit into more than one category. You can mix up the words to perhaps better see the connections between them.

Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to understand, blue and green are in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult. The purple group often contains puns.

Select four words that you think go together and click Send. If you guess and are wrong, you lose a life. When you’re close to finding the right group, you may see a message saying you’re one word away from the right group, but you still need to figure out which word to swap.

If you make four mistakes, the game is over. Let’s make sure that this doesn’t happen with the help of some tips, and if you really find it difficult, even with today’s ones Connections Answer. Like with Wordle and other similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.

If you have one NYT You can access the publications with the All Access or Games subscription Connections Archive. This includes every previous game from Connectionsso you can go back and play any songs you missed.

Aside from the first 60 or so games, you should be able to find my clues for each grid via Google if you need to! Simply click here and enter the date of the game for which you need hints or answers to the search query.

What are today’s connection solutions?

Spoiler alert! Don’t scroll any further down the page until you’re ready to find out today Connections Answer.

This is your final warning!

Today Connections Answers are…

  • Yellow group – think together (AFFILIATE, ASSOCIATE, EQUATE, RELATE)
  • Green Group – Ways to Attract Fish (BAIT, CHUM, FLY, LURE)
  • Blue Group – WNBA teams (LIBERTY, STORM, SUN, WINGS)
  • Purple group – long____ (BOW, FELLOW, HORN, LEGS)

It wasn’t a perfect game today, but my winning streak reached double digits for the first time in a long time. This is what happened to me:

At first I thought there might be something about ASSOCIATE, FELLOW and AFFILIATE, but couldn’t see what would fit with it. Although there was a possibility that FELLOW and CHUM would match, I included the latter in a group of fishing things to get the greens.

ASSOCIATE, EQUATE and RELATE then came together in my head, but again I couldn’t see what would fit with it. Because I can’t spend the whole day on it Connections (Unfortunately!) I had to start guessing. So, maybe AFFILIATE with them?

Yes. Hurray! Yellow is ready.

At this point I had no choice but to make a random guess, but at least I was in a strong position with all my remaining lives. HORN, WINGS, BOW and LIBERTY were not one away from a group. That meant two were blue and two were purple. Useful information!

I was very lucky with my next guess. I thought that HORN and BOW somehow fit together. I added FELLOW and LEGS because I suspected they might have something to do with a centaur. That’s what gave me the purple tones. even if my thinking was way off. I can’t say I knew the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

I’m ashamed to admit that I’m unfamiliar with the names of WNBA teams, so the Blues were a mystery to me. They refer to the New York Liberty, Seattle Storm, Connecticut Sun and Dallas Wings.

On a side note, I just learned that the name of the new Canadian WNBA team is Toronto Tempo. I really like that! I hope they bring back a championship, similar to what the Toronto Raptors did not long ago.

PS: I’ll settle for today’s recommendation, but hey! That’s more or less what this section is about. A while ago I happened upon the YouTube channel of Allaster McKallaster, an “unbiased” Scottish commentator who delivers famous moments in football (not football) game after game.

Of course, these are not real comments that will be broadcast during the games. But the first time I saw this 10-minute supercut of McKallaster’s best, I nearly cried with laughter.

It’s admittedly a bit rough. To understand many of the jokes, knowledge of football and Scottish and British culture is required. But with special apologies to those of you from England (Hello Jane!), I can’t help but share it. The subtitles should help a little. I’ll enjoy it again while eating some fried gazpacho soup:

I wish you a wonderful day! Call someone you love!
