The return of Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight in live-action is now more likely

According to a new MCU rumor, the live-action return of Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight has been given new life.

Although Isaac’s solo series did well, Marvel Studios did not renew it Moon Knight for a second season on Disney+. Season 1 was Isaac’s only appearance in the MCU to date, and his future is more uncertain than that of any of his Multiverse Saga counterparts.

Not only is there no guarantee that Isaac’s show will get a second season, but there are also minimal signs that he could return throughout the MCU.

Marvel Rumor Teases Oscar Isaac’s Return as the Moon Knight

A new rumor shared by Scooper Daniel Richtman (Daniel RPK) on his Patreon account hinted at where fans might be able to see Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight again.

According to the rumor, Marvel Studios is accelerating a project centered around the Midnight Sons – a team that often includes Marc Spector and his other personalities. Marvel is reportedly currently looking for a filmmaker to direct the project:

“I heard that Marvel is moving forward on ‘Midnight Sons’ quickly and is looking for a director.”

In early 2024, Oscar Isaac expressed his hope for a Midnight Sons project and hinted that this could be the case “An interesting opportunity” for his character as part of a team.

Isaac is currently scheduled to return as Moon Knight in animated form What if…? Season 3, as confirmed by the recent trailer, which shows footage of Marc Spector dressed and booted in a giant mech along with other Avengers.

While Oscar Isaac will reprise his role, the mantle of Moon Knight will also be passed on to another What if…?In the third season, Blade becomes the Fist of Khonshu.

When might the MCU’s Midnight Sons Project release?

Oscar Isaac’s wish for one Midnight Sons The project is no secret as he has already named several characters from the group that he would like to work with. The real question now is who would be in this movie or TV show and when would it be released in theaters?

Some of the team’s most notable members include Blade, Ghost Rider, Wolverine, Elsa Bloodstone, and even occasionally Doctor Strange. The MCUs blade The film has seen more than its fair share of problems, but there are already several already established characters from this roster who could join Isaac in this project.

As for when it might appear in upcoming MCU projects, the question will likely take longer to be answered.

Phase 6 already has at least six films scheduled for release and ends with what is probably the most important event in the history of comic films: Avengers: Secret Warsin 2027.

Three of the first five phases of the MCU consist of six films, with the exception of the 11 films of Phase 3 and the seven theatrical releases of Phase 4. While a Midnight Sons Since the film could fill one of Phase 6’s “Untitled Marvel Movie” slots, production would have to move incredibly quickly to make that happen.

The MCU will likely be gearing up to produce this film or streaming series for a release sometime in Phase 7. After all, the Midnight Sons are certainly a big enough team to get their own MCU solo film

However, this outing could be an early Phase 7 project, considering Marvel has already set three film release dates in stone in 2028. Regardless of when this happens, however, anticipation is building that the MCU will develop more dark and exciting projects like this with this team.

Officially, there is no confirmed film or TV show in development in the MCU centered around the Midnight Sons. Moon Knight Season 1 is streaming on Disney+.
