The travel agency in Lincoln prepares for bowl game excitement

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – With the Huskers’ eight-year bowl drought officially over, fans are ready to go anywhere to support the Big Red, and it could cost you a pretty penny.

“In the last week we have had over 800 people sign up saying we want to bow out depending on which bowl we go to,” said Steve Glenn, chairman and founder of Executive Travel.

There is probably a wide range of options. The most likely scenarios are the Pinstripe Bowl in New York City, the Magic City Bowl in Nashville, the Rate Bowl in Phoenix or the Duke’s Mayo Bowl in Charlotte.

“When we go to New York City, the hotels are usually twice as expensive as in Nashville or Phoenix, so it all depends on where we go and when we go,” Glenn said.

As leisure travel attracts large crowds, it will be difficult to fly commercially. For this reason, Executive Travel also offers charter flights in its bowl packages.

“We expect costs to be incurred this year due to the charter flight price. It will be a little more expensive, but it will still provide good value for people,” Glenn said.

The cost ranges from $3,000 to $3,500 per person, but that can change at any time.

“They usually include airfare, a hotel, all transfers, game tickets, all transfers and a fun pre-game party, so it’s a pretty comprehensive package,” Glenn said.

With interest around the Bowl increasing, Executive Travel encourages people not to wait for details to be announced as packages are shipping quickly.

Bowl game package information will be available on the Executive Travel website Monday following the release of the bowl game location.
