Texas A&M football will face USC in the Las Vegas Bowl on December 27th

It’s official: Texas A&M (8-4, 5-3 SEC) faces the USC Trojans (6-6, 4-5 Big Ten) in the Las Vegas Bowl as the Aggies open and close head coach Mike Elko’s first season with first-class encounters.

Texas A&M’s 2024 season didn’t end the way many of us thought, with the Aggies undefeated in SEC play at 7-1. After losing star running back Le’Veon Moss at the end of the season, the Aggie offense became boring and ended the year with losses to South Carolina and Auburn and a 17-7 loss to rival Texas in the season finale.

Despite the poor finish, the future looks bright under Elko’s leadership as the Aggies have signed 25 commitments in the 2025 class, including five-star OT Lamont Rogers and five-star WR Jerome Myles.

For USC, head coach and “QB guru” Lincoln Riley could be on the hot seat for the 2025 season if the Trojans fail to adapt to the Big Ten and finish the year 6-6 with a losing record in conference play. However, there is some recruiting drama between both programs.

For the Aggies, Jerome Myles was once a USC commit before transferring to Texas A&M, while the Trojans moved on from longtime 2025 QB commit Husan Longstreet late last month.

The SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl takes place on Friday, December 27th and airs at 9:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
