The bills will be ready despite the snowed-in training

The Buffalo Bills lost a day of practice this week because of heavy snowstorms, but Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell said there will be no real advantage for his team ahead of Sunday’s showdown at Ford Field.

“I’m not putting anything into it,” Campbell said Friday. “I mean, I think one day in Covid, I don’t even know if we trained in New Orleans for a week, we went out and hung 30. I don’t know what that was, but no, I didn’t put anything in it.” That. The team will be ready.

The Bills canceled practice and held virtual meetings on Thursday after a travel ban went into effect in parts of Western New York. There was about 30 inches of snow in Orchard Park, where the Bills’ practice facility is located, and high winds and blowing snow made driving dangerous.

On Wednesday, Buffalo held a walk-through instead of a practice. The team was scheduled to return to practice Friday before traveling to Detroit on Saturday.

The Lions have won 11 straight and have the best record in the NFL at 12-1. The Bills (10-3) are tied for the second-best record in the AFC.

“If we couldn’t practice, we’d be ready,” Campbell said. “We will find a way. So you will be good. You will be ready. They’re going to tailor the schedule so they can play fast and allow their guys to do what they need to or take advantage of what they did. “They’ll be fine last week, so we know that we will have a ready team.

Injury update

Linebacker Trevor Nowaske will miss the Lions’ game on Sunday due to a brain injury. Nowaske practiced fully on Wednesday before reporting concussion symptoms and does not have time to clear the NFL’s concussion protocol before the game.

“We noticed that,” Campbell said. “This was something he just didn’t feel comfortable doing, so he’s following the protocol and he’ll be fine.”

Aside from Nowaske, the Lions are healthy going into Sunday’s game.

Nose tackle DJ Reader told the Free Press on Thursday that he plans to return against the Bills due to the shoulder injury that kept him out of last week’s win over the Green Bay Packers, and Reader, Josh Paschal (knee), Levi Onwuzurike ( Thigh), Alim McNeill (concussion) and Taylor Decker (knee) were all in full practice on Friday and did not have a game schedule for Sunday, meaning all will play.
