If you’re wondering what gifts you should or shouldn’t buy for kids this festive season, Kylie Kelce has you covered.

On Thursday, during On the second episode of her podcast, Not Gonna Lie, the media personality and wife of Jason Kelce shared her “brutally honest” gift guide for kids.

“I don’t know about you, but when I’m shopping or browsing social media, I often see toys and think, ‘Not in my house,'” she said.

She called the list her “please don’t buy this for my kids” guide to holiday shopping and recommended other parents share it “Aunties, uncles, grandparents, friends – anyone who asked, ‘What can I get the kids for Christmas?'”

“This is your opportunity for me to lay out this harsh reality,” said the expectant mother of four.

1. Toys that take more than 5 minutes to assemble

When a child sees a box with a picture of the toy, they immediately want to play with it, the former field hockey player said.

“And do you know what they’re going to do the whole time you’re trying to put it together on a Christmas morning or a Hanukkah night?” she said. “They’ll stand behind you and say, ‘Are you ready yet? Are you ready yet?’”

“Don’t do that to people. Let’s not do this,” she said.

2. Anything with too much glitter

As a mother of three daughters, all five and younger, Kelce said “pretty much everything” they get is sparkly. “It makes their hearts so happy. I can’t say no to glitter as a whole,” she said.

What she doesn’t like about it is that glitter falls everywhere. “You need something to seal the glitter; I need it attached to this surface; I need it not to stray from her,” she said.

3. Toys without volume control

Kelce said her daughter Wyatt was given an electronic drum kit when she was two years old. However, it did not have a volume control.

“I tried to tape the speaker, I tried to put it on a blanket when Wyatt wanted to play with it,” she said.

She finally retired the toy a week later, but said that the same person, Ed Kelce, her father-in-law, gave her child a new drum set for the following Christmas. Luckily, the new drum kit had a volume control, she said.

“But there’s still a lot of guilt associated with the fact that I hid a Christmas present from my child because I couldn’t bear to listen to the damn thing for another minute at the volume it was playing at,” she said . “I’m so sorry, Ed.”

4. Anything with a heartbeat

Her children haven’t been given a pet yet, but Kelce said she fears she’ll have to give it back at some point when the time comes.

Kelce called it a “sick, twisted joke to give away,” adding that in the end the parents would take responsibility for the pet.

“I’m proud of myself if I can keep three children alive every day. I don’t have to worry about additional pets, especially pets that I haven’t adopted into my household,” she said.

5. Toys with too many parts

“Once the kids start playing with toys that have a million pieces, I have to pick up all the little pieces,” Kelce said. Eventually, parts get lost, making the toys unusable and she ends up stepping on them, she added.

6. Toy weapons

Kelce said her children received a few toy guns. Once, her daughter Elliotte was “shot” in the backyard by an aircraft gun Wyatt was playing with.

“So they’ve proven that they haven’t gained the trust needed to get weapons because they’re going to try to take each other out, and I don’t want to be a go-between again,” she said.

“Not Gonna Lie” dethroned “The Joe Rogan Experience” to reach the top of the Spotify Podcasts and Apple Podcasts charts following the release of the first episode last Thursday.

“It absolutely blew me away,” Kelce said at the start of her second episode. “I really appreciate you guys having such positive feedback considering I’m still a newbie and we’re resolving the issues.”

The podcast is produced by Wave Sports + Entertainment, the company behind her husband’s podcast “New Heights with Jason & Travis Kelce.” In August, the brothers signed a three-year deal with Amazon’s Wondery worth over $100 million.

Kelce previously spoke about her rise to fame following her marriage to former NFL player Jason Kelce.

“As public figures, Jason and I know that our marriage is talked about, but we don’t think about it much,” Kelce previously told Business Insider.

“We use social media in a way that is authentic to us, and I make a conscious effort not to expose ourselves to other people’s opinions.”

A representative for Kelce did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent by Business Insider outside of regular office hours.
