Batman fans are divided over the DCU cast

That’s a big cape to fill

Since Batman was first introduced in 1939 and his first television appearance was in the 1966s batman, Our caped crusader was portrayed by some talented actors.

It’s hard to believe, but since his inception, Batman has been portrayed by ten different actors in live-action films and television, and many more have taken on the role in animated and video game works.

Check out our latest live-action Batman in action with the trailer below The Batman.

It’s safe to say that fans are excited about Bruce Wayne, the billionaire vigilante. So it’s no wonder that almost 90 years after his very first comic book appearance, he’s still one of the most famous superheroes.

In recent years, actors such as Christian Bale and Ben Affleck have taken on the role (with one being more successful than the other), but even more recently, Robert Pattinson wore the mask and cape for his role in 2022 The Batman.

Director: Matt Reeves, The Batman was a success and grossed $771 million at the box office. The Batman Part II is expected to hit theaters on October 2, 2026.

According to a recent rumor courtesy of Marvel and DC insider MyTimeToShineHello, DC Studios CEO James Gunn wants to see a middle-aged actor play Batman in the future of the DCU.

The rumor was recently leaked to r/DC_Cinematic and as expected, many hardcore fans had a lot to say about a possible cast.

“They are casting unknowns to the other members of the Justice League. I would like to see a big name Batman bring more attention to the DCU as a whole,” commented BatmanNewsChris.

Other suggestions range from keeping Pattinson in the role and even Affleck, but some suggest some new faces like Lee Pace, Henry Cavill or even… Zendaya? I would support it.

JefferyTheQuaxly said: “I feel like for Hollywood, middle age means someone between 35 and 40 years old (or at least an actor who can realistically play a 35 to 40 year old) who can keep up with them “I want to add Damian Wayne and a more mature Robin/Nightwing to the series.”

Whoever takes on the role of Batman for the DCU’s future will have big shoes to fill, but for now, we can look forward to Pattinson’s portrayal in 2026 The Batman Part II.
