The Nebraska football team is hoping to get another present for Christmas. The task ahead of us is already preparing for a bowl game for the first time in eight years. But once that’s over, it’s time to turn to 2025.

Matt Rhule and Co. would like to ring in the new year with another transfer as a compliment the addition of Nyziah Hunterwho they acquired from the Cal Golden Bears last week. If the recruiting rumors are true, it’s possible Santa will give them the Dane Key just before Christmas.

On Monday, reports began circulating online that the Nebraska football target was ready to do so pull the trigger on his commitment. There was a chance that a sinking would occur on December 23rd, but the day came and went without its promise. That could mean he pulls the trigger on December 24th. Or that he will wait until after the holidays to make his choice.

The signing of Nebraska football Dane Key could be imminent

According to people in and around the Kentucky Wildcats, it looks like it’s a three-man team Race for Dane Key. Illinois, the Huskers and Georgia are considered favorites.

There was also talk that he could return to Kentucky. However, insiders don’t believe this is really a possibility. They added that the teams he talked about the most were Illinois and the Cornhuskers, and of course NU was hoping that the hiring of Key’s position coach at UK, Daikiel Shorts, could seal the deal.

It’s also worth noting that both On3 and 247Sports experts believe he’s a candidate to head to Georgia. That’s why the talk about Nebraska football and Illinois is surprising. We’ll see if that’s the case in the end.
