DCU Batman is already perfectly cast, fans agree

It was right in front of us the whole time

Batman fans believe we already have the perfect person to play the character in James Gunn’s DCU, but I’m not convinced.

James Gunn has taken control of all DC films and TV series for the foreseeable future, meaning we may finally be getting some consistency in release Superman: Legacy.

Gunn has said that future projects are only greenlit once an idea or script is finalized, which Marvel does not do as projects are greenlit years in advance and a writer/director is found later.

Provided Superman: Legacy doesn’t kill the franchise outright, it’ll only be a matter of time before Batman makes another big screen debut, and fans want Robert Pattinson to play him.

Robert Pattinson, of course, played the World’s Greatest Detective in Matt Reeves’ The Batmanand is, in my opinion, one of the best interpretations of the character we have seen on screen to date.

Some fans want him to play Batman next in the DCU, but like me, many aren’t convinced that would be a good idea.

In a Reddit thread discussing the possibility of Pattinson playing the same Batman but with multiverse shenanigans, or playing an entirely new version of the character with just the same face, fans made it clear that they want him in his wanted to have their own universe.

“I mean, let Matt finish his vision. The DCU Batman should not shy away from the supernatural and metahuman aspects of the Batman mythos.”

“I think it would be too confusing if the same person played Batman in two different episodes. Either he is the Batman of the DCU or he is not. He can’t be both.”

“Just let it go. Reeves should probably hurry up a bit, but just let the man cook. It’s not built for the DCU, nor should it be.”

Personally, I like what Pattinson has done with Batman so far, and I would hate to see that ruined by him fighting superhumans with Superman.
