Get ready to sing along from your sofa:Evil is expected to be released on streaming services next week, significantly earlier than expected.

The hit musical, starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, will be available in the US on Amazon Prime, Apple TV+ and other digital platforms starting next Tuesday, December 31st.

It will be available in the UK a few days later, on Friday January 3rd.

The film will be available as a premium digital release, priced at $29.99 in the US and £19.99 in the UK.

A physical release on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD is expected to follow on February 4, 2025.

Director: Jon M. Chu, Evil tells the heartwarming story of two young witches as they make their way through university and learn about true friendship.

Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), later known as the Wicked Witch of the West, is an extraordinary green-skinned witch who encounters many obstacles due to her difference and forms a bond with Glinda (Ariana Grande), who is the opposite of Elphaba Most cases – popular, popular and blonde.

The film features songs from the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical and stars Ethan Slater, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Peter Dinklage, Bowen Yang and Marissa Bode alongside Erivo, Grande and Bailey. With a running time of just under three hours, the film from 2024 is only the first part of the whole story, the second and last part Evil: Foreveris scheduled to hit theaters on November 21, 2025.

Nominated for an Oscar earlier this week Don’t look up Director Adam McKay said he wouldn’t be surprised to see that Evil banned in America given the current political developments in the country.

McKay made a bold claim on X/Twitter on Monday (December 23), calling the film “one of the most radical major studio films ever made in Hollywood.”

“I know Part 2 is a little focused,” he said, “but Part 1 is bluntly about radicalization in the face of careerism, fascism and propaganda.”

Reply to a surprised commenter who said he hadn’t seen it Evil But because they felt it looked more like “American fantasy, franchise wrestling and CGI fare,” McKay said, “I think you’ll be shocked.” If America keeps this up, I wouldn’t be surprised if the “The film would be banned in three to five years.”

He continued with the comparison Evil to a handful of 20th century classics, including The sound of the music, Citizen Kane, Bridge on the River Kwai And The seekersas well as newer tariffs such as The Hunger Gameswhich he described as “incredibly left wing.”
