The state fair, located in East Rutherford in the parking lots of MetLife Stadium, typically closes at midnight or 1 a.m. and opens at either 2 p.m. or 6 p.m., depending on the day. The box office closes at 10:30 p.m. on selected dates and 11:30 p.m. on other days.

There are over 100 rides on offer at the state fair, including a “children’s area” for small children.

When someone isn’t sitting on the Ferris wheel or trying to pop balloons to win a prize, they can enjoy food from over 50 different vendors, including fried Oreos and lemonade.

The state of New Jersey will also have fireworks displays on July 3rd and 4th.

The first New Jersey state fair to be held in the Meadowlands was held in 1986 as a six-day event, as stated on the website. The trade fair now extends over just over two weeks, as last year the number of visitors was over 400,000.

According to the website, the fair generates nearly $1 million in New Jersey state tax revenue. All rides are state licensed and have been inspected and approved before opening.
