11 new Netflix series premiering in 2025 that are worth checking out

Pete Berg, Taylor Kitsch and Eric Newman have teamed up again after their Netflix hit Painkillers for what everyone described as the most challenging project of their career. The cast and crew endured extremely harsh conditions in the mountains of New Mexico for 13 months to film this six-episode limited series, premiering January 9th. In an interview, Berg said he was “in a wild state” when he filmed this story about a violent America in 1857, when Native Americans, Mormons and pioneers fought and died to keep and control their land. Betty Gilpin stars alongside Kitsch.

Zero day

In this thrilling and frightening new six-episode limited series, a beloved and highly respected former U.S. president leads the investigation into a nationwide cyberattack while battling his demons. This show from American prehistoric times Eric Newman examines how we find truth in a world in crisis. In a time full of conspiracy theories and deception, how many of these forces are products of our own actions, perhaps our imagination? This thriller starring Robert De Niro, Angela Bassett, Lizzy Caplan, Jesse Plemons, Joan Allen, Connie Britton, Dan Stevens and Matthew Modine premieres February 20th.

The residence

This mystery revolves around 132 rooms, 157 suspects, a corpse, a wildly eccentric detective and a disastrous state dinner. This crazy crime thriller takes place on the upper, lower and back floors of the White House, among the diverse staff of the world’s most famous mansion. Viewers will find out who did it when this series from executive producers Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers premieres March 20. The cast includes Uzo Aduba, Giancarlo Esposito, Ken Marino and Randall Park.

Death by lightning

This drama series brings to life the epic and stranger true story of James Garfield, the reluctant 20th President of the United States, and his greatest admirer, Charles Guiteau, the man who would come to kill him. Starring Betty Gilpin, Matthew Macfadyen, Nick Offerman, Michael Shannon, Bradley Whitford and Shea Whigham, this series will premiere in 2025.

Apple cider vinegar

Set at the birth of Instagram, this story follows two young women who set out to cure their life-threatening illnesses through health and wellness, impacting their global online communities in the process. All of this would be incredibly inspiring if it were true. This is a true, lie-based story about the rise and fall of a wellness empire, the culture that built it, and the people who destroyed it. Kaitlyn Dever, Alycia Debnam-Carey and Aisha Dee star in what is sure to be one of the streamer’s biggest hits of the new year.

Netflix’s first medical drama series follows the staff of Miami’s busiest Level 1 trauma center as they deal with medical emergencies, while a young emergency room physician named Danny Simms is unexpectedly promoted to chief medical officer amid the fallout from their provocative romance. This ten-part drama comes from creator, showrunner and executive producer Zoe Robyn and showrunner and executive producer Carlton Cuse.

Sirens

This dark comedy comes from Molly Smith Metzler (Maid) and stars Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy and Kevin Bacon. The story follows Devon (Fahy), who believes that her sister Simone (Milly Alcock) has a sinister relationship with her new boss, the enigmatic socialite Michaela Kell (Moore). Michaela’s iconic life of luxury is like a drug to Simone and Devon has decided it’s time for an intervention. When Devon tracks down her sister to say “WTF,” she has no idea what a formidable opponent Michaela will be. Narrated over an explosive weekend at the Kells’ luxurious beachfront estate: Sirens is a concise, sexy and darkly funny examination of women, power and class.

Black rabbit

Jason Bateman and Jude Law star in this new series that tells the story of the owner of a New York hotspot who lets his turbulent brother back into his life, opening the door to escalating dangers that threaten to destroy everything he’s built has to bring down.

The four seasons

This highly anticipated comedy comes from Tina Fey. She stars alongside Steve Carell, Colman Domingo and Will Forte in the story of three suburban couples who vacation together every season, but tensions rise when one of the couples separates and the husband takes on a much younger woman on subsequent trips brings with you. Netflix hasn’t announced a premiere date for this film yet, but it’s sure to be a hilarious short film.

Too much

This romantic comedy comes from Lena Dunham (Girl) and with Megan Stalter, Will Sharpe, Michael Zegan, Rita Wilson, Andrew Scott, Andrew Rannells, Aylin Scott and Emily Ratajkowski. The story follows Jessica, a New York workaholic who moves to London after a breakup. Her plans to be alone are thrown to the wayside when she meets Felix and she considers finding love again.
